The New Year Is Here

By: Roy Williams

Make this the year of no fear. What is fear? False Evidence Appearing Real. As you go through life, with age, you should become aware that most of the things we fear never happen, and even if they do happen, it’s usually not as bad as we imagined. Even the Bible teaches us to, “Fear not.”

A couple of the most important things I ever learned is that “you will travel in the direction of your dominate thought, and the mind completes the picture you hold in it.” When you fully understand those two principles, you can begin to take control of your life. With that in mind, I will challenge you to make 2026 the best year of your life.

Learning to take deliberate control of how you think about yourself can and will change the direction you are headed in life. With that in mind, please allow me to challenge you to think about what you do want instead of what you don’t want this new year. Too many people feel sorry for themselves for many different reasons. We even use language like, it’s not my fault, I think I’m going to be sick, I can’t win, I’m not qualified, I’m too fat, I’m not worthy, and so on. Without even meaning to, that type of thinking will always take you in the wrong direction. Even though you don’t want to be sick, it’s really not your fault, you are worthy, although your mind will push you to become those things because it is designed to push you in the direction of your dominant thought.

Way too many people get focused on what they don’t want, even though it’s just as easy to think about what they do want. Only one thought can occupy your conscious mind at a time. So, allow me to challenge you to make a list of what you do want in 2026, where you want to be, how you want to look, and how healthy you want to be instead of the opposite of those things. This works in all areas of your life. It even works physically. Over the years, I have witnessed hundreds of people totally turn their health around simply by teaching them to see themselves as physically fit, stronger, and slender.

All true change begins with a mindset. Imagine yourself the way you want to feel, healthy instead of sick, slender instead of overweight, strong instead of weak. Practice that way of thinking over and over again and your powerful mind will slowly but surely move you step by step in that direction. That is the first step in making 2026 the year that everything changed. With each little success, your confidence will grow. Write down how you would like to be by the end of the year. Imagine how good you will feel about yourself when those things happen, and watch as it becomes easier because your mind knows what it is that you want instead of staying focused on what you don’t want.

Our educational system has failed us at the most basic level. We are not being taught to stay focused on what we do want in life. But it’s never too late to start. It doesn’t matter how old you are. I’ve watched men and women in their eighties totally transform their lives in a year. It will not happen overnight, but if you practice thinking about what you want, instead of what you don’t want, positive change will occur. By doing those things, your mind will begin to recognize what is needed to complete the new picture. Your mind will also become attracted to the things that are necessary to reach those goals and naturally move you in that direction.

Allow me to finish with your health. Even your physical health is controlled by your thinking. So many people come to me to improve their health. We take a look at where they are presently, their diagnosis, the meds they are using, how they feel most of the time. Then I ask them — Has there ever been a time in your life when you were healthy? How did you feel then? How did you look then? Where was your energy level then compared to now? My goal is to remind them and their mind that they have the ability to be healthy, and get them focused on how much better their life was then. Their mind set is always, “Step one.”

Next, we begin to help them focus on what changes they must make in order to move them back to where they want to be. Almost all physical problems can be reversed using a better mindset, drinking more water, and taking proper nutrition. It is now recognized worldwide that almost all disease is the result of nutritional deficiencies and dehydration. Over the last 25+ years we have helped thousands of people improve their overall health using these methods.
