Ardmore announced Jonathan Snider as their new football coach, replacing P.J. Wright, who resigned to take over at St. Clair County. Snider has been the defensive coordinator at Athens High School. The Golden Eagles also have new basketball coaches: Danny Anderson will take over the boys’ team. Anderson played at Elkmont and coached at Fort Payne, Deshler, Clements, Guntersville, and Hazel Green. Capriee Tucker will head up the Athens girls’ team. She had been an assistant at Hazel Green before her most recent post as head coach at James Clemens, where she will remain until the end of the school year.
James Clemens’s Aaron Boone signed a football scholarship with Faulkner. Kaleb Green and Brody Davis inked basketball scholarships with Birmingham Southern.
Athens High’s Caroline Bachus was picked for the North Girls’ All-Star basketball roster and West Limestone’s Justin Taylor will coach the boys’ team. Athens High’s Emily Simon was named to the North All-Star softball team. Elkmont’s Mary Jane Hobbs will serve as a coach. Tanner’s Manuel Felipe was also selected for the North All-Star Boys’ soccer team. The North-South All Star games will be played during All-Star Sports Week in July.
