We are so close to Red, White & BOOM! In just a few weeks I will be with you, my fabulous Athens-Limestonians, to celebrate the 250th in good, old-fashioned, down-home, American-as-apple-pie style!
Our amazing partners and I have a whole itinerary arranged:
Friday Night:
Art After Hours Summer Concert Series! — A GREAT night of live music on the square! 5 p.m.
Saturday:
Red, White & ZOOM Rocket Pop 5K! — Walk or run on our certified course on Swan Creek and get a free Bomb Pop when you finish! Register at run signup! 7 a.m.
Red, White & BLOOM at the Farmer’s Market! — We will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States’ Declaration of Independence the Athens Farmers at Market at Doug Gates Park! 8 a.m.-noon.
~ Free time with family and friends, noon to 4 p.m. ~
Red, White & BOOM at the Sportsplex! — We’re bringin’ the food, the music, the fun, and the fireworks. You just bring YOU and your chairs! Live music, storytellers, vendors, kids fun zone, and FIREWORKS! 4-9pm
The Best Viewing for the Fireworks: They are still being launched at the middle school, but we highly recommend you come watch them with us at the Sportsplex. It will be so much cooler on the grass than in a parking lot! Plus, we have the food trucks! Traffic is much better too. You will be able to see everything in style when you party with us at the Sportsplex! Can’t wait to see you there
Please note: The only pets allowed are service animals, and alcohol is not permitted. No glass bottles are allowed at all. Handicapped parking only is available at the south entrance of the swimming pool parking lot at the Sportsplex. General parking is available at any other parking lot around the Sportsplex, so come early and grab your spot!
