My Identity In Christ: God Says I Am Royalty

When we come to Christ, our identity is completely transformed. No longer are we defined by our past, our failures, or the labels the world places on us. Instead, God calls us His own children, members of His family, and heirs to His kingdom. In Christ, we are not common, we are royalty.

We are adopted into God’s royal family. The moment we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, we are adopted into God’s family. “For he chose us in him before the creation of the Word to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for the adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will” (Ephesians 1:5). This adoption is not symbolic, it is real and permanent. The King of kings calls us His sons and daughters, which means we inherit the privileges, rights, and honor that come with being children of the Most High God.

1 Peter 2:9 declares, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” This verse doesn’t just describe what we do, it defines who we are: chosen, royal, holy, and set apart.

Royalty carries identity and purpose. Being royalty in Christ is not about earthly crowns, wealth, or titles. Instead, it is about living with the identity and authority that come from God. As His royal children, we walk in dignity. Our worth is not determined by others’ opinions, but by our Father’s declaration. We live with authority. Luke 10:19 tell us that Christ has given us power over sin and the enemy. We serve with purpose. God’s royalty is not self-serving. Just as Jesus, the King, came to serve, we too reflect His glory by serving others with love and humility.

We have a royal inheritance. Romans 8:17 says, “Now if we are children, then we are heirs, heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.” This means everything Christ has secured through His death and resurrection belongs to us as well. Eternal life, victory over sin, peace that surpasses understanding, and the promise of heaven; these are the treasures of our royal inheritance.

We are living out our royal identity. To live as royalty in Christ is to remember daily that we belong to Him. It shapes how we see ourselves, how we treat others, and how we walk through challenges. Even in seasons of hardship, we can lift our heads high, knowing we are beloved sons and daughters of the King.

So, when the world tries to convince you that you are ordinary, overlooked, or unworthy, remember what God says: You are chosen. You are set apart. You are royalty. In Christ, your crown may not be visible to the world, but it is eternal, unshakable, and secured by the King Himself. Walk in that truth today.

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).
